We're Adding Active Violence Emergency Response Training (AVERT) to Our Roster of Classes

There were more than 600 mass shootings across the US in 2022. Active shooter situations in the U.S. are happening more frequently, and you never know where or when you may be the victim of a violent situation. These shootings occur in grocery stores, schools, churches, concerts, and subway stations across the country.

A mass shooting is described as an "incident in which four or more people were shot or killed, excluding the shooter."

Would you, your work team, fellow congregants, and family know what to do if there was an active shooter situation? Knowing what to do in these situations is not the kind of thing you look up on Google or search for a YouTube video.

We are now offering Active Violence Emergency Response Training (AVERT) to our roster of classes. When a violent situation occurs, you can't always wait for EMS to arrive because it may be too late. AVERT empowers you and your team to become an immediate on-scene responder by giving you the tools to react quickly in life-threatening situations and be prepared for potentially violent situations. After an AVERT training session (approximately 2.5 hours) your team will be able to:

  • Recognize potential warning signs using situational awareness

  • Decide what to do: Escape, Evade or Attack

  • Apply critical bleeding control techniques in life-saving situations

  • Respond quickly and confidently in an emergency situation

  • Develop and review an Emergency Action Plan (EAP) for your team

Just like with CPR training we'll bring everything needed for the AVERT class. Don't delay call us today to schedule an opportunity to prepare your team to recognize the signs of danger, react appropriately, and make rapid survival decisions when every second counts. AVERT goes beyond active shooter response training by also teaching how to get life-threatening bleeding under control.
